How to add and edit tickets

Create free or paid tickets for your event in Admin, change them later, and understand the limits on prices, numbers and sales dates.

Updated October 1, 2026

An event can have several kinds of tickets, for example an early bird ticket and a standard ticket. You can add and edit tickets on draft and published events.

Add a ticket

  1. In Admin, go to Events and open the event.
  2. On the Info tab, find Tickets and select Add.
  3. Fill in the Ticket info step:
    • Ticket name
    • Sales open date and Sales open time
    • Sales close date and Sales close time
    • Price. Leave it at 0 for a free ticket.
    • Tickets: how many tickets are available
    • Max per person
    • Description (optional)
    • Allow ticket resale and Allow ticket transfer. See How ticket transfers and resale work.
  4. Select Next.
  5. In Advanced settings, you can add required memberships, membership discounts, discount codes and questions. All of these are optional. See How to make a ticket members-only, How to give members a cheaper ticket and How to create discount codes for a ticket.
  6. Select Save.

Edit or remove a ticket

Select Edit ticket on the ticket, change what you need and select Save. To remove a ticket, select Remove ticket.

Rules to know

  • Paid tickets need Orbi Pay. Until Orbi Pay is set up, the price field is locked and shows Set up Orbi Pay to sell paid tickets. See How to set up Orbi Pay.
  • There is a minimum price for paid tickets. If the price is too low, you see Paid tickets must cost at least followed by the minimum amount.
  • Ticket sales can't close after the event ends. Select Set to event end to fix it. If you need a later sales close, change the event end time first.
  • You can't lower the number of tickets below what you have already sold.
  • Max per person can't be higher than the number of tickets.
  • To make a paid ticket free, remove its discounts first.
  • You can't remove a ticket that people already hold. You see Cannot remove ticket.
  • Tickets can't be changed on a canceled event.

Once the event is published and tickets have been added, you can follow sales on the Insights tab and see buyers on the Attendees tab.
