Introduction

Events are at the core of Orbi. You can create, customize, and publish events to engage your audience, sell tickets, and manage attendance. This is a short overview of the steps in Admin.

Step 1: Create a new event

Go to the Events section in Admin.

  1. Click New event
  2. Enter the Title, Start date, Start time, End date and End time
  3. Click Create

Your event is saved as a draft. Drafts are listed under the Drafts tab.

Step 2: Add event details

On the event page, fill in the core information:

  • Cover image: upload an image or generate one
  • Description: explain what the event is about and why students should attend
  • Location: where the event takes place
  • Contact information and links

You need a description and a location before you can publish.

Step 3: Add co-hosts (optional)

If you are organizing the event with another organization, invite them as co-hosts. See How to invite a co-host to an event.

Step 4: Create tickets (optional)

If your event requires registration or payment, add tickets. See How to add and edit tickets. To sell paid tickets, you need to set up payments first. See Set up payments.

Step 5: Add questions (optional)

Collect extra information from ticket buyers, and choose which tickets each question applies to.

Step 6: Set visibility

Choose who can access your event:

  • Public: anyone can find and access the event
  • Private: only people with the link can access the event. You can also share it with selected memberships

See Public and private events.

Step 7: Publish your event

When everything looks right, click Publish. You can also keep the event as a draft and finish it later. See How to publish an event.

New organizations can publish private events right away. Public events can be published once Orbi has reviewed your organization.
