Set up payments

Introduction

To sell paid tickets and memberships on Orbi, you need to set up a payment account. This connects your organization to Stripe, our payment provider, so your payouts are handled securely. This is a short overview of the steps in Admin. Anyone on your team can set up payments. For details, see How to set up Orbi Pay.

Until payments are set up, the top of your Organization page in Admin shows Payments: Not activated.

Step 1: Open Payments

Open Admin and select Payments in the sidebar.

Step 2: Fill in your organization details

Under General information, choose your Type of organization and Country, and enter an Email.

Step 3: Add payout information

Under Payout information, enter the bank account owner details, your IBAN and VAT rate. Accept the terms of service and click Continue.

Step 4: Complete Stripe onboarding

You are sent to Stripe to finish the setup. Fill in all required information using your official registration documents. Make sure all details are accurate, as incorrect information may prevent approval.

When you are done, you return to Orbi.

Step 5: Check your status

Go back to Payments in Admin to see your account status. If Stripe needs more information, you will see a status such as Information missing or Action required, and a coloured dot next to Payments in the sidebar. Click Update information to continue with Stripe. See What does the payments status mean?.

Payments managed by another organization

If your organization is a section that uses another organization's payment account, Payments shows which organization manages your payments. Contact them if you have questions about payment settings.

Your payouts are now enabled

Once Stripe has verified your details, you can start selling tickets and receiving payouts. Payouts are sent weekly when sales were made the previous week.
