How to get your digital Student ID in the app

Orbi Student ID is a digital student card in the Orbi app. It is available for students in Sweden and shows the public transport discount symbols you qualify for.

Who can get a Student ID

• Your Orbi account must have Sweden as its country. If it doesn't, see How to change your school or country in the app.
• You need a Swedish personal identity number.
• You must study at least half-time for at least 10 weeks in a row during the current semester. Orbi checks this in CSN's records, or with a study certificate if you verify manually.

Get your Student ID

1. On the home screen, tap the ID card icon at the top
2. Under Get your student ID, enter your Personal identity number (YYMMDDXXXX)
3. Tap Verify me

Orbi checks your studies against CSN. If you qualify, your Student ID shows right away.

What the card shows

The card shows Verified student and the semester, your name, your personal identity number or birth date, your Card number, the discount symbols you qualify for, and the date it is valid until.

Each Student ID is valid for one semester. Spring cards are valid until 15 September and autumn cards until 10 February. After that, verify your studies again.

Using the card

Show your Student ID together with a valid identity document when asked at a ticket inspection. The card is saved on your phone, so you can show it without internet access. If you log out, the saved card is removed from the phone.

Each transport operator sets its own rules, so you may qualify for one discount symbol and not another.

If verification doesn't work

• Enter a 10-digit personal number.: check the number format and try again.
• We couldn't confirm that you're eligible for a student ID card this term.: CSN may not have your studies, for example if you have not applied for student aid. Tap Not working? Manual verification and email a registration certificate from Ladok, or a study certificate from your school, to support@orbi.io.
• Your student ID card has been revoked. Please contact support.: email support@orbi.io.
• Your application was successful, but we could not save your student ID card for offline use.: close the screen and open it again while connected to the internet.
