When does my membership expire and how do I renew it?

Learn how long a membership period lasts, how to see when yours expires, and how to buy a new period in the app.

Updated October 1, 2026

A membership is valid for the period you bought. Memberships in Orbi are not renewed automatically, so you buy a new period when yours runs out.

How long a period lasts

The organization decides the type of each period:

  • Fixed dates: Valid between a start date and an end date, for example a semester. If the start date is in the future, your card shows Active on and the start date until then.
  • From purchase date: Valid for a number of days, months or years, counted from the day you buy it.
  • Lifetime: Never expires.

See when your membership expires

Open the Campus tab, tap Memberships and find the card under My memberships. The card shows Valid thru and the expiry date. During the last month, the status changes color, and the period shows Expires soon under Membership history on the membership page.

When the membership has expired, the card shows Expired. Discounts that require the membership are then no longer available to you.

Renew your membership

  1. Open the membership from My memberships.
  2. Next to Membership, tap Buy.
  3. Select a period and tap Continue.
  4. Complete the checkout.

Periods you can't buy again show Already owned. This applies to periods with fixed dates and lifetime periods that you already have. To renew a fixed-date membership, buy the next period when the organization puts it on sale.

Good to know: A new "from purchase date" period starts on the day you buy it. It does not add time to the end of the period you already have. If your current period is still running, the two periods overlap.

If no period is on sale, the organization has not opened sales for the next period yet. Contact the organization.
