How to use a student discount in the app

Student discounts are in the Discounts tab of the Orbi app. Organizations can also have their own discounts on their page, under Discounts.

Find a discount

• Browse the sections in the Discounts tab, or tap All categories to browse by category.
• On a list of discounts, tap the filter button to open Filter discounts. Choose Online discounts only or Local discounts only (everything within a 5 km radius), pick categories, and change the sort order. Local discounts and sorting by Distance: Closest need access to your location.
• To keep a discount for later, open it and tap Save discount. Your saved discounts are under Saved discounts.

The discount page shows when the deal ends, for example Deal ends and a date. Discounts that end within a day show a countdown on their card, such as Ending in 3 hours!

Use a discount

The button at the bottom of the discount page shows how to use it.

Get discount code

1. Tap Get discount code. The Discount code screen shows your code.
2. Tap Copy & Continue. The code is copied and the shop's website opens.
3. Paste the code at checkout.

View discount

Tap View discount. The shop's website opens with the discount.

Redeem in store

1. Wait until you are at the counter.
2. Open the discount and tap Redeem.
3. Show the screen Discount successfully redeemed to the staff as proof.

Tapping Redeem uses the discount right away, with no confirmation step. Some discounts can only be redeemed once. Others can be redeemed again after a waiting time. The confirmation screen then shows Redeemable again at and a time.

On orbi.io

You can also find and use student discounts in your browser. Open Discounts in the menu on orbi.io and select a discount. You need to sign in to use it.

• Get discount code: your code is copied and shown on the page. Select Copy & Continue to open the shop's website, and paste the code at checkout.
• View discount: the shop's website opens in a new tab.
• Redeem: you see Discount successfully redeemed to show the staff. Like in the app, this uses the discount right away.

If a discount is only for verified students and you're not verified yet, you see Verification needed. Enter your student email address and select Send email, then follow the link in the email.

Discounts with requirements

Some discounts are only for verified students or for members of certain memberships. If you don't meet the requirement, the app tells you when you tap the button. See Why can't I use a discount?
