Kizomba Course - SP1 2026

Kizomba is a smooth and elegant partner dance that originated in Angola. The word "Kizomba" comes from Kimbundu, one of Angola’s major languages, and means “party” or “gathering.” The dance developed from Angolan Semba, combined with influences from Caribbean Zouk music that reached Angola through cultural exchange and travel. We teach Urban Kiz, a modern evolution of Kizomba that combines the close connection and smooth movements of Kizomba with influences from urban and contemporary dance styles. It focuses on musicality, connection, and creative movement, making it a fun and expressive social dance. Beginner course Time: Sundays, 17:00 - 18:00 The beginner course is designed for those who have never danced Kizomba before—or perhaps have never danced at all. It provides a solid foundation in the dance, covering basic steps and simple patterns. Social Dance Time: Sundays, 18:00 - 19:00 The practica is open for any CSDA member, and we highly encourage our students to join it as part of the course. Here you have room to practice what you’ve learned, as well as socialize and make new friends. Choosing any one level of the course, i.e. beginner or continuation, gives you access to all the activities of the dance, i.e. the beginner and the continuation courses and the social dance after. The student discount applies to students from all schools and universities and also PhD students.
