How to manage a group in the app

Groups have three roles: admins, moderators and members. To manage a group, open it and tap the box with the group's name to see its details.

Roles

• Admin: full access to settings, members and all roles.
• Moderator: full access to settings, members and non-admin roles.
• Member: can post and comment. Members can add other members if Who can add members is set to Anyone.

Admins and moderators can also delete any post in the group.

Approve or reject requests to join

In private groups, new requests show as "1 user awaiting approval" on the group. Tap View to see Awaiting approval.

• Accept a request to let the person in.
• Decline a request to reject it. You can add a Reason (optional) and turn on Block user so they can't join the group again. Tap Reject to confirm. The person gets a notification, with the reason if you wrote one.

Change someone's role

1. In the group's details, tap the members to open Members.
2. Tap the menu button next to the person.
3. Choose Make admin, Make moderator, Remove admin or Remove moderator.

Only admins can make or remove admins.

Remove or block a member

1. In Members, tap the menu button next to the person and tap Remove from group.
2. To stop them from joining again, turn on Block user.
3. Tap Yes, I'm sure.

Moderators can't remove admins.

To see or undo blocks, open Blocked users in the group's details and tap Unblock user.

Edit the group

Tap Edit in the group's details to change the cover image, name, description, privacy, visibility and Who can add members. Tap Update to save. If the group is Hidden, you can't change its privacy.

Delete a group

You can only delete a group when you are its admin and the only member left. Remove the other members first, then tap Delete group and Delete permanently. All posts in the group are deleted too, and this can't be undone.

Leave as the only admin

If you are the only admin and want to leave, you are asked to Select new admin first. Tap Choose admin and pick a member.
