How to create a post in Admin
Post updates to your organisation page, an event page or a membership page, schedule them and choose who gets a push notification.
Updated October 1, 2026
Posts let you share updates with students. In Admin you can post to your organisation page, an event page or one or more membership pages. Posts are always published as your organisation.
Create a post
- Open your organisation page on orbi.io, select Enter Admin, then select Posts in the sidebar.
- Select New post.
- Under Choose where to post, pick Your organization page, An event page or A membership page, then select Continue.
- If you picked an event or membership, choose it in the Event or Membership field. You can select several memberships, and one post is created on each membership page.
- Write your message. Posts can be up to 5,000 characters.
- To add images, select Upload images. You can add up to 50 JPEG, PNG or WebP images.
- Under Notifications, choose who gets a push notification (see below).
- Select Post, then Publish now or Schedule post.
You can also write a post directly in the Posts tab of your organization page, an event or a membership in Admin.
Schedule a post
Select Schedule post, pick a Publish date and time within the next two weeks and select Schedule. Until then, the post is only visible to your team and is marked Scheduled for with the date.
Notifications
Notifications are off by default. The options depend on where you post:
- Organization page: Notify Followers sends a push notification to people who follow your organisation.
- Event page: Notify Attendees notifies people with a ticket to the event. Notify Followers notifies your organisation's followers. For private events, only Notify Attendees is available.
- Membership page: Notify active members notifies the membership's active members.
Only people with the Orbi app installed receive the push notification. For scheduled posts, it is sent when the post is published.
Common issues
- The event isn't in the list. You can only post to events that are published or cancelled. Draft events show Posts are available once the event is published.
- You can't add images. Images can't be added when more than one membership is selected. After you add images, you also can't add more memberships. Select your memberships first, or create one post per membership.
- Upload images didn't work. Retry the failed images before posting. Post stays disabled while images are uploading or have failed.
- You closed the dialog by mistake. If you have a draft, Admin asks Discard draft? first. Select Discard only if you want to lose the text and images.
