West Coast Swing Course - SP1 2026

West Coast Swing (WCS) is the viral partner dance of the last few years, which is danced all over the world. It suits most slower, modern music and is easily recognized by the room for improvisation for both followers and leaders within the dance. Continuation course Time: Wednesdays, 17:30 – 18:30 The continuation course is suitable for dancers who have already taken the beginners course. Here new figures and music adaptation are explored further. Expect more fun and lots of dancing! Beginner course Time: Wednesdays, 18:45 – 19:45 The beginner course is designed for those who have never danced West Coast Swing before—or perhaps have never danced at all. It provides a solid foundation in the dance, covering rhythm and music, basic steps, and simple patterns. By the end of the first lesson, you’ll be able to show off the basic steps at CSDA’s social hangouts. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident enough to join West Coast Swing social dances wherever they take place in Sweden. Exploration Time: Wednesdays, 18:45 – 19:45 The exploration course is where you will start to dive deeper into complex patterns and explore unique ideas giving contrast to your dance. We require that you have taken our continuation course and feel confident with its contents, or that you are a more experienced dancer who has taken other courses elsewhere. It is also recommended that you know the 5 basic patterns in your secondary role. Social dance Time: Wednesdays, 19:45 – 21:00 The social dance is open for any CSDA member, and we highly encourage our students to join it as part of the course. Here you have room to practice what you’ve learned, as well as socialize and make new friends. Choosing any one level of the course, i.e. beginner or continuation, gives you access to all the activities of the dance, i.e. the beginner and the continuation courses and the social dance after. The student discount applies to students from all schools and universities and also PhD students.
