Leave-No Trace Trip to Qvaløya p.3

The nonprofit Rissa Citizen Science and the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) are partnering on a research project to reduce the negative environmental and social impacts of Northern Nights tourism in Tromsø, with a particular focus on campfires.​ One part of this project is to engage travelers in mapping campfires and restoring nature in locations used by Northern Lights hunters. ​ Join us for a day trip around Kvaløya (the Whale Island), and volunteer to map and remove campfires while exploring fjords, mountains and beaches in some of the most beautiful areas around Tromsø. ​Pickup time: 10:00 (Tromsø Activities Hostel, Storgata 107) Return time: 15:00
