This is the perfect opportunity to discover the world of theatre: come and see En Sicile, the new creation by Jeanne Balibar, already announced as one of the must-see events of the season, at the Théâtre de Vidy, a leading venue for performing arts in Lausanne. The show will be in French with English subtitles and will last around an hour and a half. An apéro will be offered before the performance. Description of the show: “The actress Jeanne Balibar recounts a spring afternoon in the mountains near Palermo. The author Juliette Blamont has gone to live in the Sicilian countryside, where she meets Miss Coco the goat, whom she follows along sun-baked paths. All around them lie ancient hills, arid fields and the concrete blocks of anarchic and criminal urban development. But Miss Coco and her friend Signora Rosa — “a goat who appeared out of nowhere and a woman from the depths of time” — playfully and patiently resist this ravaged and destructive world. They follow other connections between humans, plants and animals, made up of fragility, attachments, memories and curiosity… Following them is idyllic. Jeanne Balibar takes on this clear-sighted and meditative text, which soon opens onto other horizons. The journey becomes an elegy for our world in the face of an urgent question: how can we surrender to the moment while resisting the present? On stage, the actress engages in a dialogue with a colourful and shifting landscape by the painter Julie Polidoro.”
