Mega-Collab: Drachenfels Hike & Bonn Balloon Festival! 🌍⛰️🎈 Looking for a perfect mix of nature, views, and good company? Get ready for the ultimate DEGIS Multi-City Adventure! DEGIS Bonn is thrilled to host a collaborative hike to the beautiful Drachenfels, meeting up with fellow international students from the DEGIS Köln and DEGIS Trier chapters. 🗺️ The Hike Plan: We will all gather at Bonn HBF on Platform 1 before heading out. We’ll hike up this iconic hill in Königswinter (near Bonn) and enjoy stunning views of the Rhine River along the way. It’s a beginner-friendly hike, so no prior hiking experience needed – just bring your energy and good vibes! Once we reach the peak, we’ll spend some relaxed time at the top – so feel free to bring snacks, drinks, card games, or anything that makes your day more fun. We will also take an epic multi-city group photo to remember the day! 🎈 After the Hike: The Bonn Balloon Festival! The fun doesn't stop at the ruins. After our descent, we will head back into Bonn to check out the amazing Bonn Balloon Festival! The evening balloon launch starts around 7:00 PM, so we will make sure to reach the location before then. You can either relax with the group and explore Bonn, or head back to your city if you prefer. For those who want to stay late, stick around for the traditional "Nightglow" at nightfall (starting around 10:30 PM). During the Nightglow, the hot air balloons are set up in the dark and beautifully illuminated with their burners to the rhythm of music! 📋 Event Logistics: Date: Saturday, 13 June Meeting Time: 11:00 AM (Please be on time!) Meeting Point: Bonn HBF on Platform 1 (Look for the DEGIS team!) Trek Difficulty: Easy to Moderate 🎒 What to bring: ➡️Please wear comfortable shoes (there's some uphill hiking!) and bring enough water. ➡️Snacks, drinks, or games for our relaxed time at the top. ➡️Your semester ticket (for the train ride to the base). 🚨 Registration is strictly required!
